Dr. Susan Hershenson joins Scientific Advisory Board of NanoPacific Holdings, Inc (NPH)
We are please to announce Susan Hershenson, PhD has joined the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of NPH. Dr. Hershenson brings a substantial background and over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical and drug development with major biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Her experience will compliment an impressive team of NPH scientists, other SAB members and our academic collaborators at UCLA, stated Joseph A. Boystak, Chairman & Co-CEO of NPH.
NPH is currently developing multiple proprietary platform technologies which may enable drug delivery, novel therapeutics and vaccine adjuvants and has identified significant programs and product candidates. Dr. Hershenson’s experience and expertise will facilitate NPH’s evaluation and definition of a commercial pathway for each initiative.
About Dr. Hershenson:
Dr. Hershenson is currently the President of Pharmaceutical Transformations, LLC, where she provides consulting services to biotechnology and pharmaceutical related companies. Prior to starting her own practice, she was a Vice President, Pharmaceutical and Device Development at Genentech where she led end-to-end biologic drug product development. Prior to Genentech, Susan was the Vice President, Pharmaceutics at Amgen where she was responsible for developing formulations and drug delivery systems for all of Amgen’s products and product candidates at all stages of development. Her department consisted of over 250 scientific staff members at four sites, utilizing an annual operating budget of over $70 million per year. Under her leadership at Amgen, the Pharmaceutics Department developed commercial formulations and submitted relevant sections of BLA/NDA/CTD’s for numerous therapeutic products including cytokines and analogs, hyperglycosylated and chemically modified proteins, MAb’s, peptibodies fusion proteins, and small molecules. These products included: Prolea® (Amgen’s first in-house antibody product), a liquid formulation for vials and prefilled syringes (PFS), Nplate® (peptibody), a lyophilized formulation, Vectibix® an in-licensed MAb, a second generation liquid formulation, Sensipar® (Amgen’s first small molecule product) tablet, Aranesp® (hyperglycosylated erythropoietin), a liquid formulation for vials and PFS, Neulasta® (PEGylated G-CSF), a liquid formulation for vials and PFS, and Kepivance® (cytokine), a lyophilized formulation. Susan holds a BA in Chemistry from the University of Chicago and an MS, Ph.D. in Biology from Yale University.
